Caitlyn Bagley grew up about an hour outside of Rapid City (decided to move back to the area as an adult). She grew up as an athlete, ran varsity cross-county starting in middle school, but when Caitlyn got older, she could not call myself an athlete anymore. Her life has been turned upside down several times, and she came back to running as a way to get out of her own head and survive. Caitlyn wanted to start a BALG in Rapid so other people could have a space to run with people who were there for the experience and would not judge their abilities. Hardcore running groups can be terrifying and are definitely not for everyone, and she wanted a space where people can come and know they will not be left behind or made to feel like someone else's burden.
Hannah N Furchner has lived in Rapid City her entire life (never could escape). She loves to travel her heart out, but you cannot beat the Black Hills and the outdoor activities it provides for us. To this day Hannah struggles calling herself a “runner”. When in reality- no matter how slow or fast you run, you are moving and improving your health every step. She started at square one and knows how intimidating the whole scene can be.
