Hi, I'm Chelsea! My running journey technically began when I was a cross country runner in high school. I stopped running up until 2023, when I entered the lottery for the 2024 Chicago Marathon. My friend asked me to join and I agreed to sign up for the lottery and got selected, then I'd do it. Well, what are the odds (very low from what I was told), I got selected. Early in 2024, I was haphazardly running with no structure or plan. That's when I joined Badass Lady Gang for the base building experience.
From the beginning I felt welcome as a back of the pack runner and encouraged to reach for my goals. Through an experience or being a part of the team, you build relationships with the team and coaches who can talk you through any issues and adjust your plan to fit your life, it's exactly what I needed.
My favorite experience so far has been the marathon training experience group. It's life changing to spend 20 weeks with others who are reaching for the same goal, struggling with the same issues, and learning new things every time.
Running brought me an outlet for life's challenges. Badass Lady Gang gives me a community. Running is more than just running.
