Ali is someone who had always wanted to be athletic, but it took her a while to find her “thing” and understand that being athletic was for everyone! While studying in grad school, she came to love the mental health benefits that came from running and was finally able to accept exercise as a form of self-care and not punishment. Ali has fallen in love with running and all of the amazing people she has met through it. When not running she loves reading, photography, eating delicious food, drinking endless coffee, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones and hilarious pets.
Favorite Part about BALG
The unconditional acceptance to show up as who you really are and feel welcomed and supported.
Hi friends, Morgan here! As a former competitive dancer and performing arts student, I've always enjoyed moving my body but never did running ever cross my mind... until some colleagues all signed up for a local race. I thought "I'll run this thing if we're all going to brunch after!" Not only did we get brunch after, but something clicked with that sense of accomplishing that first race. It wasn't until I moved to Toronto that I *really* committed to running - it was a way to explore my new neighbourhood and get to meet new people and prove to myself that I could do things I didn't think were ever possible for me. While I find joy in running, I find just as much joy stopping at the red lights for dance party breaks! Outside of running, I'm an avid rock climber (while also afraid of heights... I know, I know!), love riding my bike, trying new coffees, re-watching Schitts Creek, and the incredible sport of Dog Spotting.
Favorite Part about BALG
the incredible support that the group provides - in life and running! That no one gets left behind! That BALG brings joy into running! The friendships! It's really hard to just pick one :)
